| I've always been a creative person. It began at a very young age. I used to 'doodle' all the time in the empty spaces in various notebooks for school. One day a friend took a peek and thought I should really be in an art class. I kinda brushed it off for awhile. However, he made me talk to his art teacher about joining his class. After showing the teacher my work he saw instant potential. That teacher went on to become my mentor. He expanded my knowledge and capabilities (in 2 dimensional art) in ways I never imagined possible. I will always be grateful to Gary Carpenter for showing me the light. In my senior year of high school (1997) I began becoming interested in photography. By interested I mean I loved taking tons of casual photos, hehe. The passion didn't really set in until I purchased my first digicam, a Canon Digital Elph Powershot S200 (2002). As my addiction began to grow I needed a camera with more options and capabilities so I upgraded to a Nikon Coolpix 5700. My passion soared to new heights but eventually I still needed more. Since a DSLR was a bit out of my range (in what i was 'willing' so spend, lol) I opted to go up to the Nikon Coolpix 8700 (my current camera) and the adventure has just continued from there. I would guesstimate I've taken over 10k photos since my beginnings in digital photography and look forward to taking more. I finally made the upgrade to a DSLR with the Nikon D60 in October 2008. I immediately fell in love with that camera. So far mostly landscape/nature photography has been my primary experience but I do look forward into getting into modeling (shooting of course) work. So far I haven't really done much people photography with the D60 but I do have some shoots in the works and can't wait to begin! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have enjoyed your time here. |
